Purchase the Priory! was an auction of original paintings and other artworks by local professional artists. Most of the donated artworks are related to the Priory or have been inspired by it, so this was indeed your opportunity to purchase the Priory – or at least a representation of it!
The ‘Purchase the Priory!’ event on Saturday 11th May began with a reception in the Priory, with Priory 900 beer and other refreshments. Live music was provided by classical guitarist Garry Burnett and singer-songwriter Carrie Martin.
Singer-songwriter Carrie Martin and classical acoustic guitarist Garry Burnett performed live on the evening.
The auction itself was conducted by local art and antiques expert Mike Lawrence, and the money raised will go towards Priory funds.
We are extremely grateful to the artists for their generosity, and to Corinne Young and Jean Illingworth for organising the event.
