Bridlington Priory saw many pilgrims arriving in days gone by, and Priory 900 explores how the tradition is still alive today. This ‘21st century’ pilgrimage linked two St Johns, (St John of of Beverley and St John of Bridlington), and was arranged by and for the Bridlington Priory Walking Club.
A limited group walked from Beverley Minster to Bridlington Priory over the course of three days, and met up with the pilgrims travelling from York Minster for a celebratory service at Bridlington Priory on the final day (28th August). A special guide booklet was prepared and participants visited a number of historic churches along the route.
